blackbirdsandme: One Year On!

Today, 11th April, is the exact birthday of our first post on Instagram [@blackbirdsandme] I'm not a very tech-savvy person so getting the website up and running and 'site optimized' was a challenge and there is still a way to go...especially in terms of clever tricks for directing traffic to our site and getting our 'Blackbird has Spoken' blog out there.  On the plus side, I've a great photographer at my side [@isabellasynekherd_photography] and have made some decent progress on my forthcoming book, "MID-CENTURY MODERN ON A SHOESTRING", which I shall be cracking on with over the course of the ne​xt few months whilst simultaneously continuing with home improvements and restyling at Blackbirds, some aspects of which will feature in the book.  So I do hope our followers, family and friends have enjoyed sharing our journey thus far: in main, the sneak peeks we have offered via our Instagram weekly squares and on this site, www.mymidcenturymodern.co.uk.  Our ultimate aim is to offer ideas and inspiration for building a mid-century modern nest on a shoestring budget: our 1970s house offers the ideal opportunity to document real-life, achievable examples which will be showcased in the book. Small matter of finding a publisher now. Wish us luck!!!
