Blackbirds and Me

​Well, here it is, almost up and running. I wanted to call my website blackbirdsandme as blackbirds are something of a lucky mascot for me as well as being a great mid-century totem ( it's a long story, and you would have to read my forthcoming book, Mid-Century Modern on a Shoestring [ Jana Synek] to understand why...) Blackbirdsandme  is also the identity I use on Instagram where I have introduced some of our interior design elements whilst building this site and will continue to do so. However, I decided to name it My Mid-Century Modern so that the title of our website would be more descriptive of what we do, and easier for people to relate to. It's also similar to the title of my book, and the website is in a way a concise version of that.  So within the pages of this website I hope you will find some inspiration for creating your own mid-century modern home, and will find the photography interesting and helpful. As mentioned on the homepage, my own property is still very much a mid-century modern home in the making, so as things progress, evolve and develop, I will add updates as we go.
